In the pursuit of offering our customers the highest quality components paired with the most efficient solutions, we’re proud to introduce our latest innovation. We’re adding a new Armco Barrier to our existing range. The new product comes in the usual 3.5 metre size, however, being 1.5mm thinner than standard Armco barriers, it weighs in at an incredible 20KG compared to the standard of 42 KG.That is more than 50% weight saved.

After halving the weight of our barrier, we then turned our attention to improving its service life. We partnered with Magnelis to change the composition used in the galvanising process. Using a Zinc, Aluminium, and Magnesium coating we’ve significantly improved the corrosion resistance over the basic Zinc coating.  This improved the expected coating life by around 10 years to deliver a potential service life of 30 years.

In addition to a longer life, the new coating also gives the barrier “self-healing” properties. The coating covers up red rust over time, despite continued exposure, preserving the aesthetic qualities of the barrier. Best of all, because of the efficiency gains made when manufacturing the new barrier, the price per unit is 30% less than the standard barrier.
